Portable PC gaming anyone?

I know i’m a little late off the mark with this one, but the guys at Ploylab gave me the opportunity to try out the Win 3 . The GPD Win 3 was first released in January 2021, after being crowdfunded. It is the successor to the Win 2 and the Win Max. There are actually two variations of the Win 3. The I5-1135G7 & I7-1165G7. Ploylab very kindly sent me the I7 version, along with the docking station, as well as a portable monitor, which will be covered and reviewed at a later time. So what are the specs … Continue reading Portable PC gaming anyone?

This is the portable Pandora Box you have been waiting for!!

A while ago Ploylab sent me a portable Pandora Box, namely called the Pandora 3D Clamshell. You can take a look at that article here: https://somethingnewreviews.wordpress.com/2021/03/06/another-pandora-box-arcade-machine-but-with-a-great-advantage/ At the time i was really impressed with how different it was to a standard Pandora Box, namely because it came with a built-in 10” HD screen. Whilst it played games well, and had fairly good image quality, i was a little disappointed, by the overall package. Cosmetically it was a little rough around the edges, and wasn’t the best looking games machine i had used. I also criticised the lack of games on … Continue reading This is the portable Pandora Box you have been waiting for!!

Anbernic RG300X handheld review.

2021 has seen a great many of gaming handhelds brought to the market. Anbernic have recently released the RG300X. This particular one has taken the very popular design of the Gameboy Micro which first came into circulation in 2005. Aesthetically it looks really good, and if you are like me when it comes to retro gaming, i absolutely love how the RG300X looks. Whilst the RG300X may look like a gameboy micro, it’s actually larger in size, and is similar to the likes of the RG351P. It is a nice size for the hand and plenty of room for all … Continue reading Anbernic RG300X handheld review.

The Mysterious Navigator self-build model.

Something a little different to my usual articles. Ploylab sent me a couple of self-build model kits, this being one of them. The Mysterious Navigator is based on Steam-Punk, and anyone into Steam-Punk should be perfectly at home with this type of model. Based on a mechanical Dragonfly the Mysterious Navigator, is completely self-build and took me around 10 hours in total to build (it took me a couple of sittings to do). This certainly is not one of the easiest models i have completed over the years, mainly due to the amount of small parts involved in the build. … Continue reading The Mysterious Navigator self-build model.

8BitDo Pro 2 controller…… A must buy!!

The 8Bitdo Pro 2 is the big brother of the SN30 which came out 2 years ago. In my opinion this is one of the best controllers you can buy, for its versatility and build quality. I just wanted to get that out there from the onset. Ploylab sent me the Pro 2, mainly as i was interested in finding out how it would work with mobile gaming, particularly as a lot of my reviews of late have revolved around gaming products. For $65.99, it really does offer everything you would want in a Windows/Switch/Android/iOS controller. Yes this controller is … Continue reading 8BitDo Pro 2 controller…… A must buy!!

Powkiddy X17 portable gaming handheld Impressions.

Ploylab, the sponsor of my website and YouTube channel, sent me the Powkiddy X17 to review. Prior to receiving it, i was a little confused as it’s listed as a new handheld, even though the X15 and X20 are already available from Powkiddy. So the fact the X17 sits between those two i found rather strange. My first impressions with X17, was that it felt light, but not too light, that would make you think there wasn’t anything inside the shell. The design is ok, but a little bulky, you certainly can’t slip this into your pocket. However the 7” … Continue reading Powkiddy X17 portable gaming handheld Impressions.

QuietOn 3 hands-on…….. Are these better than the previous version?

In October 2020 I wrote an article on which sleep aids were the best when it came to blocking out noise, when attempting to sleep. You can read that article here: https://somethingnewreviews.wordpress.com/2020/10/16/do-you-suffer-from-poor-sleep-can-any-of-these-products-help-beat-that-snoring-partner/ The products i tried ranged from cheap foam earbuds, to snoring sprays, right up to very expensive Sony headphones, and the slightly cheaper QuietOn ANC earbuds. If you have read that article (and you really should for comparison) you would know that one product which came out top were the foam earbuds, both in price and how well they worked. The original QuietOn’s whilst having some great ANC, … Continue reading QuietOn 3 hands-on…….. Are these better than the previous version?

E-Yooso X-8100 mechanical keyboard impressions.

If you have looked through my website, you will find that i have yet to review any gaming keyboards, that’s mainly because i don’t have a gaming PC just yet, so haven’t felt the need to look at anything in this area. However as you probably know by now, Ploylab kindly sponsor my website and Youtube channel, and recently i’ve received some quite different products (and even more to come) than what i would usually review. So when i was asked to take a look at the E-Yooso X-8100 mechanical keyboard, i thought ‘why not, there isn’t that much difference … Continue reading E-Yooso X-8100 mechanical keyboard impressions.

GKD Mini review……. Do big things come in small sizes?

The GKD Mini, was released back in June, and unfortunately due to holidays etc i have only just had chance to write this article. But that is sort of a good thing, as i was able to spend some quality time with this little bad boy. The GKD Mini was shown online in November 2020 which was a good while, before actually being released. Back in 2020 it showed good potential especially when competing with other handhelds, however things have moved on with technology since then, which has sort of left the GKD Mini behind. However that being said, whilst … Continue reading GKD Mini review……. Do big things come in small sizes?

Decorate your gaming room with these amazing resin art pieces…………

For many, gaming is a passion, i know it is for me. Most true gamers, whether retro or modern, usually have more than one gaming device/platform. They also usually have a man/woman cave or an area in the house where they will proudly display their handhelds, consoles and games. But how cool would it be to show off a piece of art, something completely different and unique on that shelf next to your handheld. Well now you can with these amazing resin sculptures, brought to you courtesy of Ploylab. If you have ever visited Ploylab’s website (the link is below) … Continue reading Decorate your gaming room with these amazing resin art pieces…………
